“The Folly” is a unique, luxury one-bedroom hideaway set in two and a half acres of landscaped gardens, the main house being “Forest Gate” is one of the gate houses for the spectacular Mamhead Park in Devon.

Nestled within the rolling countryside woodlands to the west of Exeter, the terrace and veranda have sumptuous views overlooking Brickhouse Vineyard and onwards to the sea at Dawlish Warren.

The stunning terraced gardens are just perfect for capturing those special moments with the flora and fauna of the forest providing a picturesque back drop for your special photographs.

A perfect romantic hideaway for two…

A honeymoon retreat, elopement or somewhere where you can just ‘crash’ – the ambiance is one of relaxation and romance. A stone’s throw from a beautiful wedding venue, “The Brickhouse Vineyard”, it’s also perfect for singles holidays and somewhere you can keep your canine pals in a safe, beautiful and tranquil location.

The tiny 17 century fishing harbour of Cockwood is just down the road, where you can relax in one of it’s two pubs. Within half an hour is a rich choice of South Devon beaches and estuaries to explore, or slightly further on is Dartmoor or the historic market town of Exeter.

The Folly has been completely refurbished, under new ownership and consists of a double bedroom, bathroom, open plan diner/living area including tea/coffee making facilities, microwave and fridge.

Whist you can prepare snacks with the facilities provided, for a more substantial cuisine there is a private chefs service for breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea all of which are created in the main house from locally sourced fresh ingredients, which must be booked in advance.

Fluffy white dressing gowns, towels and bed linen are provided for your stay along with a selection of teas and coffee.

The owner is a Master Patisserie Chef so enjoy the home baked cakes and cookies on arrival and a complimentary hamper filled with a choice of cereals, bread for toasting, butter conserves and fruit.

The Folly is Dog Friendly and welcomes your well behaved four legged friend by prior arrangement.
